APA format chaps my hide

All my papers seem to be written fine, content is fine... " A " papers, but I have a recurring theme that I just can't seem to win.

It seems my quotes ( in the body of the paper) are not referenced properly. Now , I am referencing them on the reference page ( appropriately) however the teacher wants me to correlate the quote with the reference in the text... huh?

Do I put numbers that correspond with the reference? She said no because you don't number your references. Do I put see below? I have asked her and she states it is clear in my APA manual... oh yah... I bought one at 75 dollars and the stinkin' thing is soooooo freaking confusing...

someone help me!

APA SUCKS!

I didn't have to use it in college... Social Sciences usually uses the standard footnote (or endnote)...

well I can't really help you, but I can share in your disgust of this stupid ass particulars of APA!!! Seriously, this is why I do not want to do research, cuz in order to do research you have to turn in papers like this that must be perfect, and its freakin bullshit!! who the hell cares how you write the paper as long as the content is there it shouldnt freakin matter...good luck tho!

$75! Ouch, I got mine on Amazon for cheaper, but I digress. APA is HORRIBLE! My first paper back my stupid incorrect APA was the only thing I lost points on. It is dreadful and the stupid manual doesn't help. Wait, I forgot your question because I was ranting. Hold on.

OK, I think for quoting you have to do this....

"The reason APA is stinky is because is reeks of stinkiness and should never have to be used by anyone ever" (Travers, 2008, p. 54). Then she can use your reference page to figure out what article you mean by the author.

I think if it is not a direct quote, but an idea, you would not need the page number, just the author and year.

I think since we both have to use APA we should help each other as much as possible, call me whenever you want and if you don't mind I'll do the same. We just need to say beforehand that we are likely to be wrong.
